"I want to go to a Lantern Festival, you know where we can light lanterns like in Tangled?" Lynn said. "But we missed the one in LA, are they hosting more soon?" I asked. "The closest one is in Reno." "Isn't Reno kinda far away?" "It's actually just outside of Reno..." "Let's go, who knows when we will get this chance again." I say, after much thought. " Good because I already bought the tickets." Lynn responds, unwavering in her pursuit of the Lantern Fest. Just outside Reno, we drove out to an inactive raceway, alongside hundreds of others, in hopes of lighting lanterns. With weather reports threatening to shut down the show, we were pleased when no rain fell and we were allowed onto the race track. We were given s'mores materials, which we ate happily as we waited for night to approach. We made our camp on the hillside and watched with lights in our eyes as the lanterns illuminated the valley bellow. We waited for the first wave to pass before lighting our own lanterns. There was something so special about sitting under the lanterns, as if Lynn and I were in our own little world. As the band played the song from Tangled in the background, we sat, just enjoying each other's company.
