1. Bixby Bridge
With only a few feet separating us from the cliffside and an untimely demise, we admired the bridge. A complex system of metal and tar that surprisingly adds beauty to the landscape, rather than destroying it. 2. McWay Falls Waterfalls are cyclical. They are both a beginning and an end. The end of a river, the beginning of a pool. After our lunch I struck up a conversation with another onlooker. She told me she came to leave her father’s ashes, all the way from Australia. Beginnings and endings are just titles, it’s all a cycle. 3. Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park Rotting logs and broken trails litter the path to the falls. Adventure is not being afraid to go beyond road signs. My little mountaineer found her hiking feet on this trip and hasn’t looked back since. 4. Partington Cove Go to the beach they said, put your toes in the sand they said. What beach? What sand? What toes?! 5. Secret Tunnel Two lovers, forbidden from one another…. you know the song. The best kinds of adventures are the ones not planned. The ones stumbled upon that bring you to a place of pure mystery. Here is to getting lost together. 6. Pfeiffer Beach Right as the sun begins to dip, light will pour through the keyhole, like the house of a giant at night time. The lights go down and the giant goes to sleep. If you are lucky enough, you can snap a picture before it gets dark.
