Continuing from our Point Reyes adventures with Marcie and Shawn, a white car pulled up to us while we were shooting them in their van. The window rolled down, and who else could it be but the Kristina and Dima, the model couple who we had lost! With just a bit of light left in the day, we drove down to the famous Point Reyes Cypress Tree Tunnel to capture just a little bit more magic before we left.

About a month ago, I saw Olivia Markle post that she was going to be in town to shoot, and I immediately had to message her and hang out with her while she was here! With this amazingly talented Utah photographer, along with another wonderful NorCal photographer Kayla Esparza, we ventured out to Point Reyes, not knowing what an adventure we had in store for us.
Two hours past our meeting time, we finally found each other but with no models in sight - the couple had lost service down in Drakes Beach, Wandering around the parking lot, we were all a little hopeless in our search - we had no one way to contact them. As we were wandering, Olivia spotted the most adorable couple hiking up the hill. "Should we just ask them if they would like some photos?" A few looks at each other, and we were all running up chasing after them. With our cameras in hand and a few introductions later, we found ourselves shooting Marcie and Shawn, who were so in love, married for three years, and had never had their photos taken. And what an amazing couple they were - so naturally moving with each other, like there was no one else around. We adventured with them down to the beach, where they wholeheartedly jumped into the water for some breathtaking shots, and ended the day with them cuddled in their rad campervan. Oh what an adventure! Little did I know that one random cup of coffee offered to me as I was studying for my first master's class would lead to me getting to capture such a special moment for Michael and Audrey! That random cup of coffee led to him joining our college ministry, meeting my now-husband, and then some major bromance over coffee. Last Saturday we had the joy of getting to watch him propose to his girlfriend at Castello di Amorosa, a beautiful castle winery in Calistoga, CA. What an amazing, God-loving couple they are - we are so excited to see what their future holds!
Alisha and Greg knew they wanted a redwoods engagement session from the start, so we trekked out to Redwood Regional Park in Oakland. While most of the trails didn't have the forest vibe we wanted, we found a beautiful patch of redwoods growing just right next to the parking lot. With the sun just dipping beyond the horizon, Alisha and Greg were troopers as they held each other tight to keep each other warm. Check out the rest of their engagement session!
After shooting a cozy engagement session in SF, we figured we might as well enjoy the beauty of the city while we were there! So we drove on down to the coast to Ocean Beach to catch the sunset, running through the sea foam scattered on the coastline. And what a beautiful sunset it was, with the hues reflecting on the sand and the foam clouds drifting toward the shore.
When Sonia approached me and said that they wanted to do a San Francisco engagement session in a coffee shop, I was already in love. Sending over a plethora of beautiful coffee shop interiors over the course of week, we decided to shoot at The Mill. Sonia and Ankit - long distance lovers from SF to SD - were just so silly, poking fun at each other at every turn making for the greatest giggles and laughs. Here's a snapshot of their session!
We connected with Courtney & Jackson (who were recently engaged!) through a few online photography groups, and just had to meet up! Fellow travelers, photographers, boba addicts, Christ followers, and former long distance lovers, we immediately clicked with these this adorable couple. We laughed and told stories over coffee, reminiscing over college days, sharing our bucket list adventures, and looking ahead to what the future could hold. Who knows, next time you could see us all in Iceland!
We hung out with these two wonderful people in Yosemite this past weekend! Amelia had photographed us a few months ago, and we saw on her Instagram story that they were in Yosemite. A few texts later, we set out to meet up in the morning (after some sunrise photography of course) and had such a fun time with them. We spent the entire day just stopping whereever, just marveling at Yosemite's beauty. Photography them was such a dream - Amelia and Eli couldn't stop laughing and giggling. Before long, we all became quick friends, sharing pizza and cooking burritos in their campervan. What an adventure!
Cholla Cactus Garden, Joshua Tree National Park, CA "Isn't it going to be cold?" everyone asked.
"Not compared to the negative degrees we camped through last year in Arizona and Utah," we constantly replied. As our new winter break tradition (in our efforts to combat high flight prices while still using vacation time to adventure somewhere new), we decided to take a road trip through the desert landscapes of California and Nevada. With our gear packed and our handy Pulse remote in hand, we caught the sunrises, sunsets, and cloudy days in between, while exploring my newfound love for couples photography and his newfound hobby for videography. Everyone always asks us, "Do you just have a third wheel photographer with you everywhere you go?" Nope - just our Pulse remote that allows us to not only take photos from our phone, but also set timelapses...long exposures...and more! So with our car piled high with equipment, we drove down for a week to take in that Southern California sunshine. "Well, I can do 7 AM in the morning," I responded as Kim explained to me that her photographer had cancelled just prior to their scheduled photoshoot. So we drove up to the Los Gatos tree farms the next day and caught the early morning fog with this beautiful family!
