It all started with a KLC (click) of a camera. Keith Andrew Lewis, my love, my life. From the first time we met 5 years ago, I knew I had something so precious, so immeasurably amazing that I couldn’t imagine what I had done to be to given the chance to love and cherish a man so loving as you. From that first date, you made me laugh like a best friend would, you treasured me like I was the only one you could see, you inspired me like a hero would. As I stand here today, I know without a doubt that I am most blessed to marry a man of Christ who not only lives passionately to serve wholeheartedly our God, but also grows me each and every day to be more like Christ than I was yesterday. 5 years ago today, I was sitting in my room after a pretty miserable day at school. I had just signed your yearbook, and it was less than spectacular. I had thought about what to write for days on end but when the moment came, I just couldn’t find the words. Disappointed in myself I sat at desk, wondering if I should message you and make things right. I messaged you that night and kind of asked you out and you kind of said yes, I remember you telling me that we could “give it a try” and I am so thankful you gave me a chance that day. I vow to be the first to your side when you call in need, and even when you don’t. The real difference, and the reason that we are here today, is because of how faithfully you led me to the Lord. In the years of trials that we spent in different cities, you never gave up hope that one day we would be together and that I would know the joy that you had in knowing Jesus. A few years in, your devoted praying paid off and I gave my life to Jesus. Because of you, my life will never be the same. I vow to walk with you in faith, to run this race with you with never ending wonder of how far we have come and never ending hope of how much more we can be because of Christ’s redeeming grace. Now, as you faithfully served me for all those years, it is my turn to bless you, no longer as your boyfriend or fiance, but as your husband. I will lead our house with a heart after God’s own. I will treat you with the grace, kindness, and devotion that you and God have shown me over the years. I vow to live each and every day with you filled with giggles and laughter so hard we cry, at the quirks that make you, you, and that make us, us. I vow to always giggle at your adorables, to always adore Mr. Snuggles just as I adore you. I vow to love you with an agape, unconditional love, and though imperfect as I may be, I promise to always pick up the pieces and come to you with open arms. Here are my promises to you. I promise to pray with you and for you, even when I don’t see the light at the end of the tunnel. I promise to run side by side with you, and not read ahead. I promise that I will push gently, and never pull when we wrestle with the word together. And on the day to day side of things, I promise to only buy things that are on sale, I promise that I will always be the more adorable one, especially if you are having a bad day. I promise to never fall asleep during Game of Thrones. I vow to adventure with you to the ends of the earth, to share those moments untouched by the click of the camera amazed at the wonders of the one Creator. I vow to grow old with you still cuddled tight in your arms, to be your happiness and your home to the end of our days. I vow to never let you be satisfied to just be a dreamer, but instead be your dedicated partner, to do lists and all, to achieve your dreams as a writer, a coffee connoisseur, a craft vendor, a world traveler, a professor, a dean. Finally, I promise that I won’t stop fighting for you, whether we are in San Jose, Davis, Fremont, or maybe, just maybe, Portland, because any future with you, is worth fighting for. I love you. I love you with all my heart, mind, and soul and promise to treasure each and every moment we share, because you are the best thing that could have happened to me. Every day I am blessed beyond what I could ever ask for because of you, and I vow to never forget that as long as I live. Thank you to everyone who made this wedding possible.
