When your photographer gets sick and you already have the bouquet made and outfits ready...you make do with a tripod and remote! We had scheduled for a photo session with one of our favorite photographers - who happened to be in the Bay Area this week - and unfortunately had a fall through. But I couldn't bear to waste the beautiful bouquet that I designed, so instead, we woke up at 5 in the morning, drove up to SF, and shot in the (freezing cold) San Francisco Presidio. Loved the sunrise light - we definitely lost the magic once day began to break - but managed to capture some great shots with our Pulse remote!
For Black Friday again this year, we decided to #OptOutside to Castle Rock State Park! Only 40 minutes away from home, we headed out just in time to catch the sunset.
"You're gonna love this morning," he said as he poured cereal in the morning.
"You know I'm blind," I said groggily - I had yet to put on my contact lenses and was literally blind without them. "Well put on your glasses then!" he responded. I trekked to the bathroom, put on my contact lenses, and walked back out. As I adjusted my eyes to the light, I saw the fog rolling across buildings, the faintest colors of the trees painting the otherwise gray skyline. Before long, I had a camera in hand, tripod set up, and remote control setting ready to go...all in the fifteen minutes we had before we had to head out to work. And he was right. With the day off this weekend, we found cheap flights from San Jose to Boston on JetBlue and set off for the weekend! Keith had never been to the East Cost before, so it was a first for him. With a long list of places to go, we had a mix of foodie adventures, beautiful gardens, and historical sights to see. Day 1:
After shooting for Ginger Lab, we got the pleasure of shooting for another local Bay Area maker Juice Co. LG! Based on Los Gatos, you can find Juice Co. at the Los Gatos Coffee Company and local farmer's markets. The lovely husband and wife team came dressed to model their cold-pressed juices, along with an adorable 8-month old baby cameo. We were hit by some rain throughout the shoot, but luckily they were dressed for the occasion with matching Hunter boots. Follow their IG @juicecolg for updates!
P.S. While we aren't huge health drink fanatics ourselves, they sent us home with a few of their best flavors - and we love the citrus C01 flavor - apple, lemon, & ginger! On the Road to Yosemite Valley, Yosemite National Park, CA
With our national park annual pass in hand expiring in October, we knew we had to make a trip back to Yosemite. We had a good idea of what we wanted to shoot this time, having already traversed many of the main Yosemite photography spots. So this time, we went out to find unique views of this treasured park! With our new Pulse - which allowed us to remotely control our camera from our tripod - in hand and our new Sigma 35mm f/1.4 lens, we were super excited to share these photos! This weekend I had to honor of doing my first photoshoot for Marisella and Bradley's engagement party! It was located at the beautiful Palacio Restaurant in Los Gatos.

Friday rolls around, and we have yet to have a plan for the weekend. As a firm believer in not wasting precious weekends, I spontaneously suggested going to SLO. I had never been there, and knew there were quite a few photography spots, so off we left at 4 AM in the morning on Saturday to catch the sunrise! Since it was such a last minute trip, we had to backtrack a few times and changed our plans here and there (including driving around to 3 different campgrounds!) We eventually found last minute camping sites at El Chorro Regional Park, which luckily was also only $25. No great views, but convenient last minute place to just sleep for the night. |
